01. About me

My name is Serge, I am a London-based Ukrainian web developer with more than 12 years of experience.

I work with Frontend, Javascript, NextJS and the ReactJS ecosystem.

I've been lucky enough to work in big companies, like Meta (ex-Facebook), as well as a few creative startups, and finally consulting and freelancing.

I built startups from scratch more than 5 times, the number of front-end features I have implemented for different products is numerous.

I also design and implement code delivery pipelines (CI/CD), implement best coding practices in different teams, eg: code style conventions, code reviews, and automated tools to ensure correct usage of the aforementioned.

02. Interests and Hobbies

I do find interest in modern technologies, like AI and all things related, but mainly what fascinates me is process itself of the always improving technologies and practices. The nature of improvement, the trial and error, and required collaboration between people, seems like an interesting puzzle to me. I like nature and things from nature, not disregarding the genius design of various creatures, also board games, neuroscience, and biology mostly oriented around physical and mental health and productivity.

03. Framework Preferences

I happened to start with Front-end early, in 2011, and Front-end happened to be on the rise all along. I enjoy Front-end as much as I would enjoy any demanding piece of technology that allows moving puzzle pieces together.

I love Next.js, GraphQL, and Serverless Back-end because I believe they are the most efficient tools these days. But both of them are a culmination of many years I worked with React, Webpack, NodeJS, Vanilla JS, and many others.
